How an engagement runs

From first call to final memorandum — the practical sequence for revenue recognition verification with Appsync Data.

Revenue recognition work only helps if it fits your closing calendar. This page is the operating rhythm we use for most verification engagements in Hong Kong.

Sequence

  1. Enquiry and fit check

You share the reporting period, entities, and a sense of contract complexity. We confirm we can meet your date — or we decline early rather than over-promise.

  2. Scoping and engagement letter

We review a contract inventory extract and a handful of agreements, then issue a letter covering population, sample approach, deliverables, fee, and deposit.

  3. Kick-off and access

Named process owners, document rooms, and ledger extracts are agreed. On-site days at your office or ours at Hopewell Centre are booked against the close.

  4. Fieldwork

Walkthroughs, sample testing, and follow-up queries. We escalate likely adjustments as soon as evidence points that way — not only at the final meeting.

  5. Findings and close-out

Draft memorandum for your comments, final version, and a closing discussion. Optional: a short session with your statutory auditors.

What we need from you

  • A usable contract list for the period (customer, type, value, dates)
  • Access to signed agreements and key amendments
  • Billing and delivery evidence for selected samples
  • A finance contact who can answer process questions within 24–48 hours
